Plot Synopsis

Inspired by impressionistic painters like Van Gogh, Cézanne and Gauguin, French artist Henri Matisse used vivid colours and visceral imagery to express strong emotions, making him a pioneer of the art movement known as Fauvism. From Tate Modern London to Museum of Modern Art New York, this film leads the audience into the mega exhibition "Henri Matisse: The Cut Out", the multicoloured kingdom of Matisse’s, showcasing "The Snail", "Blue Nude II" and "Dance II". This film also features original dance pieces inspired by Matisse's works, performed by former Royal Ballet principal dancer Zenaida Yanowsky. Take a closer look and know Matisse - the master of colours who has influenced the designs of Yves Saint Laurent, the 2012 London Olympics logo, the silhouette on iPod ads and even the lovable Miffy rabbit.
